ART Stephen Lawlor: Some untidy spot

Oliver Sears Gallery, Dublin Until Jan 8 oliversearsgallery.com Classical European painting: the remix. Stephen Lawlor takes some well-known works by Titian, Poussin and others and “reimagines them in a contemporary context”. Students used to learn by copying from the masters, and this body of work is a refreshing take on that tradition, offering an insight into images we may have grown overly used to looking at.

Button Factory, Dublin 7.30pm Sold out buttonfactory.ie It isn’t often you hear of a band named after a Korean boxer, but Mark Kozelek (left) – he of arch sadcore band Red House Painters – isn’t your average anything.

He’ll be playing songs from this year’s Benji album, much praised by Pitchfork among many others.

It’s been sold out for quite some time, so if you spot a ticket on Twitter or elsewhere, grab it while you can.
