YUM THAI

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - SEVEN DAYS | EATING OUT - Duke Street, Dublin 2, 01-6708975 ¤

A tiny Thai noodle bar on Duke Street (just opposite The Duke pub), Yum Thai offers quick boxes of heat and flavour at a decent price. A good spot for a quick refuel - when the weather’s good it’s a good take away for St Stephen’s Green or the Pav in Trinity College, or there’s limited seating inside, and some benches under awnings out front. The Nua Phad Prok (spicy chilli beef, ¤5.50) will have you in tears - of the nostril-flaming Thai spicy kind - and the pad thai is very filling for ¤6 (although sometimes comes with egg noodles instead of the flat rice variety). Quality can be variable, but hard to beat price-and location-wise.
