THURSDAY 18.12.14

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - THE TICKET - Laurence Mackin PC

Today is the last chance to get yourself round the Dublin Flea and Block T’s annual Christmas Cracker market. There are more than 100 stalls of local designers, art, craft, second-hand and vintage furniture from which to pluck the perfect present. Strike fear in their hearts by adopting an effective Cavan accent. Nobody knows how to drive down a price like those Border-county boyos. HOUSE Kerri Chandler develops between a charity worker, an online scourge and a homeless guy, and it disintegrates just as quickly, with hilarious performances from John Doran, Roseanna Purcell and its writer John Morton (below). All are given supple direction by Niamh Moroney. MARKET MUSIC I Have A Tribe, Hilary Woods, Biggles Flys Again Get your Christmas shopping polished off (or, in our case, started) and scratch your live music itches in one fell stroke tonight and on Tuesday at the old firestation Mart in Rathmines. The main room will host a Christmas market selling crafty goods and arty pieces (we think this is code for “Christmas puppies” but can’t be sure), while its back room will host a trio of performances from Patrick O’Leary’s I Have A Tribe, Hilary Woods, fresh from her Tiger Dublin Fringe show, and Biggles Flys Again, made up of co-pilots Conor Deasy and Jethro Pickett.
