SJ Wat­son and Paula Hawkins It’s the mid­way point for the Moun­tains to Sea DLR Books Fes­ti­val, and per­haps the pick of the crop to­day is SJ Wat­son, au­thor of Sec­ond Life and Be­fore I Go To Sleep, dis­cussing how well we know our fam­ily, our clos­est friends or our­selves, with Paula Hawkins (above), whose The Girl on the Train is be­ing called “the new Gone Girl”. RTÉ’s Sinead Crow­ley is in charge. ON­LINE RA­DIO The Co-Present On­line Ir­ish mu­sic ra­dio show The Co-Present (you can hear it via ra­diomade.ie) kicks off a monthly pre­sen­ta­tion of up-and-com­ing Ir­ish indie/rock acts: Women’s Christ­mas, shoegaz­ers Se­grasso and new-ish band The Evo­lu­tion Project. The evening is hosted by The Co-Present’sDwayne Woods and Ham Sand­wich lead singer Ni­amh Far­rell. TECHNO Blawan Jamie Roberts is the pro­ducer be­hind Blawan’s cuts of distinc­tion. In the past few years he has pro­duced a slew of mes­meris­ing, trippy, classy, swel­ter­ing cuts ( Get­ting Me Down, the hyp­notic What You Do With What You Have, the ri­otously twitchy Why They Hide Their Bod­ies Un­der My Sleeper is sec­ond to none when it comes to heavy, throb­bing, al­most industrial-like dub cuts. Aside from helm­ing his own Cru­cial la­bel, Sleeper has also put out tracks for Ch­est­plate, Osiris and Artikal Mu­sic. He’s tonight’s main at­trac­tion, joined by Whatch, DJ Bob, Kid Header and Falx in the main room, with Sean Markey, Sam Wal­lace and Colgi hold­ing fort on the ter­race.
