Valen­tine’ s Day is a good day to drink. Whether it’ s to cel­e­brate a happy ro­mance or dr own the sor­row sofa less than suc­cess­ful re­la­tion­ship, down­ing an ex­pert ly mixed cock­tail seems ap­pro­pri­ate. This week­end, Eden Bar& Grill in Dublin are run­ning a two-forone spe­cial of their Romeo& Juliet cock­tail. Get one for your­self and who­ever you’ re drink­ing with, be it a lover or a fel­low heart breaker, for €12 for two cock­tails. If you’re notin Dublin, or the mood to wade through town, shake up your own cock­tail with Eden Bar& Grill’s recipe.


3 slices of cu­cum­ber 3 sprigs of fresh mint 2 oz of qual­ity gin( Ir­ish if pos­si­ble) 3/4oz of sim­ple syrup 3/4oz of fresh lime juice 3 drops of rose wa­ter 3 drops of An­gus­tora bit­ters Atiny pinch of salt Cass is rasp­berry liqueur Mint leaf, ad­di­tional rose wa­ter, cu­cum­ber and bit­ters with a sprin­kle of red cur­rents for gar­nish


In a cock­tail shaker, mud­dle the cu­cum­ber& mint with the pin ch of salt .( Crush with the back of a spoon if you don’t have a mud­dler!) Add the rest of in­gre­di­ents to cock­tail shaker. Let this sit for 40sec­onds. Add some crushed ice, shake vig­or­ous ly and strain into glass. Gar­nish with am int leaf& cu­cum­ber-place one drop of rose wa­ter on the mint leaf and three drops of bit­ter son the sur­face of the drink along with some rasp­berry cass is liqueur with a sprin­kle of red cur­rents.
