The music business has known about Canadian singer and songwriter Jahron Brathwaite’s chops for some time, as credits on a bunch of hits for Drake and Rihanna show. As PARTYNEXTDOOR, he has already released a brace of albums showing his take on the lusty, nocturnal r’n’b which is the sound of the moment. Like his brother-in-heartbreak Drake, PND is a dude who sees himself as a lover not a fighter and P3 has him coming to terms with what happens when that love falls apart. Songs like Only

U, Not Nice and Come And See Me have Brathwaite detailing how relationships have gone sour and doing his best to woo his woman (or women) back. It’s all done against the background of sounds which skit and bounce from Caribbean pop to more traditional r’n’b leanings. party
