Anoushka Shankar Worl­drenowned sitarist and com­poser, Anoushka Shankar makes her first visit to Ire­land. Hav­ing stud­ied ex­clu­sively with her fa­ther, Ravi, since the age of 9, Shankar’s lat­est al­bum, Land of Gold is her re­sponse to the trauma and in­jus­tice be­ing ex­pe­ri­enced by refugees and vic­tims of war. Mise Éire with live score Ge­orge Mor­ri­son’s 1959 clas­sic doc­u­men­tary Mise Éire, was scored by one of the most in­flu­en­tial fig­ures in the re­vival of Ir­ish tra­di­tional mu­sic, Seán Ó Ri­ada. Tonight the RTÉ Con­cert Orches­tra in as­so­ci­a­tion with Gael Linn and the Ir­ish Film In­sti­tute presents this pa­tri­otic fea­ture-length mon­tage that com­mem­o­rates the he­roes and mar­tyrs of 1916, with con­duc­tor, David Bro­phy.
