The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - SEVEN DAYS | FILM -

★★ Directed by Declan Recks. Starring Pat Shortt, Moe

Dunford, Ruth Bradley, Brian Gleeson, Simone Kirby, Sorcha

Cusack Broad, harmless comedy concerning an Irish builder (Shortt) who decides to recover] the Irish flag – now in a British army barracks – that his grandfather once flew in the GPO. The excellent cast are all as charming as we have come to expect. But the jokes are so clunky, the plot so fool of holes and the caricatures of the English as toffs, hooligans or eccentrics so awkward that it fast becomes impossible to make allowances. 12A, gen release, 84 min
