ELEC­TRONIC Mu­sic Cur­rent Fes­ti­val This is the sec­ond new mu­sic fes­ti­val or­gan­ised by the two mu­si­cians be­hind Dublin Sound Lab, com­poser Fer­gal Dowl­ing and or­gan­ist/harp­si­chordist Michael Quinn. This year’s vis­i­tors are the Ger­man en­sem­ble KLANK, whose im­pro­vi­sa­tions utilise “var­i­ous ma­te­ri­als from ev­ery­day life,” from kitchen uten­sils to of­fice equip­ment. The fes­ti­val, which in­cludes mas­ter­classes and work­shops as well as concerts, ends with Perisonic, “an im­mer­sive, large-scale, panoramic “paint­ing” of Dublin, us­ing eight loud­speak­ers and four video screens,” by com­posers Gráinne Mul­vey, Fer­gal Dowl­ing and Scott McLaugh­lin, with video by Mi­hai Cucu, sound pro­jec­tion by Alexis Nealon, and Sabina Bon­nici as cre­ative pro­ducer.
