ART West Meets West Philip Booth, Matthew Lanyon and Tony Lat­timer. Uillinn, West Cork Arts Cen­tre, Marsh, Sk­ib­bereen Un­til July 8 west­corkarts­cen­tre.com An Uillinn ini­tia­tive ex­plor­ing the his­toric links be­tween the seaboards of Corn­wall and West Cork. This ex­hi­bi­tion fea­tur­ing three lead­ing Cornish artists at Uillinn will be fol­lowed by an ex­hi­bi­tion of work by three West Cork artists in Corn­wall. Philip Booth makes wall mounted multi-me­dia con­struc­tions. Matthew Lanyon who, sadly, died last year, was a son of the renowned Peter Lanyon of St Ives School fame. The show will fea­ture sev­eral of his large-scale paint­ings, a new glass­work and a ta­pes­try. Fi­nally, Tony Lat­timer ( Whirlpool, be­low) makes large clay sculp­tures us­ing a coil­ing tech­nique. Nine of his pieces are in­cluded.Robert Har­ris of the Roar­ing­wa­ter Jour­nal has been ex­plor­ing the Cornish-Cork links and is be­hind the project. AD
