Mohill climb the mountain
Mohill 0-14 Glencar/Manor 0-11
Full forward Keith Beirne led a brilliant second-half comeback from Mohill as they consigned Glencar/Manor to a third straight defeat in the Leitrim SFC Final in Carrick-on-Shannon yesterday at Páirc Seán MacDiarmada.
Glencar/Manor led by 0-8 to 0-6 at half-time but Mohill levelled 12 minutes after the interval thanks to Beirne, who converted a 45, and Daniel Beck then pointed from play.
Ronan Kennedy put Mohill ahead for a second time when he shot a 46th minute point.
During the next two minutes Beirne, who finished with seven points on the day, increased the Mohill advantage to three when he split the Glencar/Manor posts from play and again from a free.
Glencar/Manor points by James Glancy and Aaron Hickey reduced Mohill’s lead to the minimum by the 50th minute but they held out to win.
