Future bright for Leinster at nine

The Irish Times - Monday - Sport - - Rugby -

The Leinster match programme is worth a read.

Last month it confirmed Noel McNamara as the new Ireland under-20s head coach in an interview with Caelan Doris. This weekend we got a promising update on three outstanding teenage scrumhalves.

Hugh O’Sullivan, from Belvedere College via Meath GAA, is expected to rise the quickest having gone straight into the Leinster Academy but cousins Patrick Patterson and James Kenny also possess the raw materials to some day become senior Ireland internationals.

“Paddy is smaller than me, but quicker, darting around the ruck area like Danny Care,” said O’Sullivan. “Conor Murray is the player I would profile James against. He is tall, rangy.”

Nucifora knows, the scrumhalf stocks need filling.
