Gender pay equality in rugby?

The Irish Times - Monday - Sport - - Rugby -

The New Zealand government, under new prime minister Jacinda Ardern, have called for equal pay for male and female rugby players. Granted, the men are fully professional but the women are in discussions to follow them. Some facts: The Black Ferns match fees at the 2017 World Cup in Dublin/Belfast were $2,000 (¤1,190). All Blacks at 2015 World Cup? $7,500 (¤4,460).

“Another glaring discrepancy,” reports the New Zealand Herald, “was the fact the Black Ferns had to fly home from Ireland in economy class after playing five games in 17 days. The men travelled home business class from England in 2015, having played seven games in 43 days.”
