Cassidy no fan of McGuinness plan

The Irish Times - Monday - Sport - - Gaelic Games Championship 2018 -

Jim McGuinness poured cold water on the notion that he would replace Stephen Rochford in Mayo on Thursday, news which will have likely been greeted with joy by one of his former players, Kevin Cassidy, who threw some shade at his former manager in his Gaelic Life column previewing yesterday’s clash.

“I saw Jim McGuinness came up with an ingenious plan during the week of playing 15 men inside your own 45-metre line and not moving out of it,” Cassidy wrote.

“Well, all I can say to that is thank the lord above that he is no longer coaching teams at this level if that is where he wants to bring our game.” Ouch.
