Ire­land to sharpen up in Som­er­set

Ire­land will play English county side Som­er­set in a four-day game at the be­gin­ning of April to help prepa­ra­tion for the coun­try’s in­au­gu­ral Test match against Pak­istan at Malahide in May.

Gra­ham Ford’s side will travel to Taun­ton for the match, which gets un­der­way on April 6th and will see Ir­ish left-arm spin­ner Ge­orge Dock­rell re­turn­ing to the County Ground, where he spent five sea­sons.

Ire­land are back in ac­tion on Satur­day when they play the United Arab Emi­rates in the sec­ond One-Day In­ter­na­tional in Dubai. Ed Joyce’s un­beaten cen­tury helped se­cure a 1-0 lead in the se­ries in a four-wicket win on Thurs­day.

And Ire­land’s men’s un­der-19 side gets their World Cup cam­paign un­der­way on Sun­day when they take on Sri Lanka at Whangarei in New Zealand.
