Rhinestone rock ’n’ roll

The Irish Times - Thursday - Property - - Interiors -

It’s a little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n’ roll with tooled leather, blankets, fringing, bare wood and desert-dried ephemera. Skulls are embellished with beads, crystals, gold leaf and mirrors, the kind that were traditionally part of ritual exchanges for native Americans and as such were valued more for the symbolic associations of their form, material and color than for their ‘worth’ in raw commodity exchange.

The trophy wall makes a hero’s return with this embellished deer skull, about ¤1,401 from Rockett St George, which will bring a dark gothic glamour to any would-be ranch house. rockettstgeorge.co.uk
