Under cover of darkness

The Irish Times - Thursday - Property - - Interiors -

Smoked glass is a great way to add depth and reflect light. It is a trope favoured by Maria MacVeigh who has used it to great effect in Tribeca, Ranelagh. In this swish Dolce e Gabbana boutique in Venice the tacky idea of a mirrored ceiling has been reimagined by Eric Carlson, of design firm Carbondale. It will look great in period halls where little of the original plasterwork remains or in an open- plan area where it can be used to delineate zones.
