Ex­hi­bi­tion records play­wright’s for­ma­tive years

Caoimhe Ní Ghor­máin, cu­ra­tor of From Deca­dence to De­spair, the first ma­jor Ir­ish ex­hi­bi­tion about Os­car Wilde, which opened yes­ter­day in the Long Room of the Old Li­brary at Trin­ity Col­lege Dublin. The ex­hi­bi­tion fea­tures letters, pho­to­graphs, books and mem­o­ra­bilia map­ping Wilde’s years as a Trin­ity stu­dent (1871-74), his rise to fame as a play­wright and his dra­matic fall from grace and im­pris­on­ment for gross in­de­cency.
