Clean­ing up for the pa­pal visit

Sir, – The last time a pope paid a visit to Dublin there was much ef­fort put into the clean­ing up of lit­ter by the county coun­cils. I can see no such ef­fort this time.

In­deed it would ap­pear that all the lit­ter picker-up­pers have been on hol­i­day all sum­mer.

The grass verges have been cut but the lit­ter ex­posed by that cut­ting is not picked up. – Yours, etc,
