Well done to our fellow Parishioners Ballylongford who were promoted to Division 4 of the Credit Union County Senior Football League. Having only dropped points to the eventual champions Cordal finishing just one point behind the East Kerry side it was a very successful campaign for this youthful Bally side. Former Asdee players from the western side of the parish; Kenneth Tydings, Jermiah Tydings, Liam McElligott and Eamon McElligott were instrumental on their promotion journey. GOLDEN GOAL Week 33 winners of the Golden was; Helen Lynch, Ballybunion and Dan Dalton, Ballynoneen which is in conjunction with upcoming Fixtures in both National Football and Hurling League and Championship. COISTE NA NÓG: The poor weather on Sunday led to the cancellation of the Under 8 football blitz that had been scheduled to take place in Duagh. It will be rescheduled in the coming weeks.

The under 10s had no competitive action this week. They continue to train for their end of season football blitz in Mungret on the October 1st. Please note that this is the only remaining fixture for this group. It had been expected that another blitz would be available but this is no longer the case. The under 12s had an excellent win over the Ardfert hurlers on Friday night in Ardfert. The under 14s unfortunately fell to Finuge on Monday in the semi-final of the North Kerry Football League. The game took place in Stack Park, Ballybunnion. This ends the season for this group. Well done to the team and mentors on a fine campaign and we look forward to more of the same in the years ahead.

The under 14 hurlers had a final to contest, taking on Ballyheigue in the North Kerry A Championship. It took place on Saturday in Kilmoyley and conditions weren’t great for both teams. The Ballyduff team is made up mostly of players who will return to this age group next year as only 3 of the team are true under 14s. So it was a mighty accomplishment to reach this stage of the competition. Unfortunately, the fairy tale ending didn’t materialise and they were beaten by a deserving Ballyheigue team. This also marks the end of the hurling season for this group. Congrats all on a job well done. There was under 15 final action this week, too. The North Kerry Hurling A Championship final for the Johnny Hussey Memorial Shield saw Ballyduff take on Ballyheigue in Ballyheigue’s home pitch on Tuesday. The home side started strong and matched Ballyduff for most of the first half. Ballyduff managed to pull away in the second half, however, and, led by a man-of-the-match performance from JP O’Carroll, won well in the end. Captain Aidan O’Connor accepted the Shield on behalf of his teammates and mentors. Congrats to all involved. Minor Football: Ballyduff/Duagh minor Football team had a good win over Bally/Asdee in the Semi final of the North Kerry Minor Football Championship
