KILLARNEY

Killarney Golf and Fishing Club will be celebratin­g its 125th anniversar­y in 2018, and a sub committee has been formed to plan the events and celebratio­ns that will be taking place during the course of the year.

The Committee is jointly Spearheade­d by our respective Vice-Captains, Sheila Crowley and Derry McCarthy, and includes Club President Breda Duggan, and the Secretary of the Ladies Club Marie Chawke and the PRO of the Men’s Club Victor Mulcahy.

They are collecting items for display, so if you have any items of historical interest including any old photograph­s, any of the Committee will be delighted to accept them on loan to the Club. They are in particular seeking items or Photograph­s of the Club at its original location of Deerpark Killarney, so please check those old photograph albums or cabinets for any such items or photograph­s.

On Friday Sept 8th we held a 10 hole mixed open scramble which was very successful. We had a large turnout despite poor weather conditions and the scoring was very good. The golfing was enjoyable and was followed a by a nice social night in the clubhouse. Men’s club
