Tom Crean takes to the air

The Kerryman (North Kerry) - - OPINION -

Antarctic explorer Tom Crean was the most well-travelled Annascaul man of his day and his image is travelling still, crossing the Atlantic on the tailplane of the Norwegian 737-MAX which is operating the flight from Cork to Boston Providence. Tom Crean’s family from Kerry, Dublin and Southampton visited Cork Airport to mark the ocassion and pictured here are Tom’s great-grandson Cian D’Arcy from Kenmare (front, right) along with Tom’s grandchildren (back row, from left) Brendan O’Brien, Aileen Crean O’Brien, Tom O’Brien, Mary O’Brien and Robert O’Brien, and (front, from left) Enda O’Brien and Carol Sheehan.
