In an expression of thanks for the excellent care received by his late father, Michael Joe, at Cork University Hospital, Anthony O’ Sullivan recently set out to raise €1,000 by cycling to Cork with his uncle Tim. South Kerry cyclists could not let them go it alone, with Dermot Keating, Mike Greaney, Colm McGill and Diarmuid O’Leary joining them for a 167 km spin which took place on Saturday morning, October 14. The cyclists left the Glen at 8am and were met in Cahersiveen by Mike Greaney. They reached Cork at about 3.30pm, having cycled in dry conditions. The winds were not bad, but increased for much of the journey’s latter half. Over €7,000 was raised.
