Well done to the boys team from Duagh NS on winning the North Kerry 6-8 teacher Cumann na mBunscol title 2017 on Friday last when overcoming Tarbert NS.This was the 3rd in a row title for the school and manager Karol Dillon.The team will now go ahead to contest the Kerry championsh­ip.Well done to all involved.

KIDS HALLOWEEN PARTY

Kilflynn Community Together will be hosting a Kids Halloween Costume Party on Tuesday, October 31st in St. Columba’s Center, Kilflynn from 7:30-9pm. Music and Entertainm­ent will be provided. Tickets on the door, €3 per child. Goody bags, music and fun for the family. Hope to see you there.

TODDLER GROUP

The Toddler Group recommence on Thursday14­th of September. It will run from 10.30am until 12pm in St Columba’s Community Centre, Kilflynn every Thursday. All new babies, toddlers, parents, grandparen­ts and childminde­rs welcome.

DARTS

The winners of the weekly doubles darts tournament in Parker’s Bar on Saturday 21st October were Paddy Weir and Greg Leahy who defeated John Leahy and Eileen Brennan in the final. 10 dart players participat­ed. The winners received some Certified Irish Angus Beef each.

The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday night 28th October at 10.30p.m in Parker’s Snug Bar. The winners will received some Certified Irish Angus Beef each. Names MUST be in for 10.15 p.m. NO Names after this Time. First game of the Tournament must start at 10.30p.m.

ST.COLUMBAS CENTRE

The Kilflynn Toddler group commenced on the Thursday 14th September from 10:30am to 12 noon, and willl meet up every Thursday thereafter, excluding school holidays.

Brownies are back since Thursday 21st September from 7pm to 8:30pm and every Thursday thereafter excluding school holidays.

The Story Frog Maria is back on Saturday 23rd September from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Booking is advisable. Sunday October 29th, 11am in the Community Centre. Eat, drink and be scary!

BRICKX CLUB

Fancy dress LEGO workshop October 27th from 4-6pm. Cost is €15 per builder with Sibling discount available. Presented by The Brickx Club, North Kerry’s Largest collection of LEGO. SYMPATHY:

The Knockanure GAA Football Club at this time would like to extend their deepest sympathies with the family of the late Tom Flavin, Trien Road. Tom died peacefully on October 1st 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Tom was predecease­d by his wife Bridie (neé Buckley). Tom and Bridie are both sadly missed by their children Patrick, Thomas, Helen and Mairead, Daughters and Sons-in Law, Brothers and Sister-in-laws, Tom’s sister Nell, grandchild­ren, extended families of both the Flavin’s and Buckley’s, neighbours and friends.

Tom played an integral role in the history of Knockanure GAA Football Club where he held each position within the Football Club itself - from Player to Chairman and beyond. His list of contributi­ons did not cease there. He held a highly regarded Officer position within the North Kerry Board along with including the position of performing as Referee to his recognized list of lifetime achievemen­ts. Sadly missed by his wide circle of friends, our prayers and thoughts are with his family at this time. May he Rest In Peace.

DEATH has taken place of Thomas Hogan of Hogan’s Shop, Glin, on 19 October 2017 in his 94th year. Survived by his wife Eily, children Mary, Paddy, Marcella, Eileen, John, Anne and Edel, daughter-in-law Margaret, sons-in-law John, Michael and Roy, grandchild­ren, niece and nephews.
