BEREAVEMEN­T:

It was indeed a very sad and lonesome Community on Thursday morning the 1st day of March as news filtered through of the passing of James Walsh R.I.P. of Ahanagran, Ballylongf­ord. Jimmy as he was more affectiona­tely known was a pillar and highly respected member of the community.

Unfortunat­ely he had not been too well this time back and his passing has come as a huge blow to both his family and friends along with everybody from this community and beyond. Jimmy recently retired from Kerry Ingredient­s in Listowel where he began working in 1971. In those early years the work was hard and the hours were long, but he never complained and was held in the highest regard by his work colleagues and management alike. This high regard was shown in the huge guard of honour that flanked his remains in both the arrival at the Church and the final journey to the cemetery which really bore testimony as to the regard these workers had for their sadly departed colleague.
