DETAILS of a new co-working and mixed office space development for HQ Listowel, set to open in September, were announced this week.

The development, a follow-on from the 40-company HQ Tralee opened in 2016, will be located on the first floor of the Pierce Fitzgibbon Solicitors building on Market Street.

The base will be made up of individual offices, meeting space and an open-plan working space. It can hold between 25 and 30 people, made up of remote workers, employees, and owners of small companies.

“We had been looking at suitable space in Listowel for a while, and it is great to have the opportunity to take on this space, which is ideally located in the town,” Tom O’Leary of HQ Tralee said. “Riobard Pierse, partners, and staff have been great to deal with, and we are looking forward to moving in over the coming weeks to work on the space.

“The aim was to expand the HQ model to other towns in Kerry. Tralee has been very successful, and we believe that other towns have the same potential. We believe that Listowel has huge potential as it has a strong tradition of enterprise and business and has a great community. The Listowel Business and Community Alliance have also been a huge support to this project over the past number of months and were instrumental in identifying locations for us.”

Alliance Chairperson Stephen stack said, “The development of a co-working space to attract jobs into the town has been a key aim of the Alliance.”

“We have seen the success of HQ Tralee in promoting business development in the town, and it is great to have Tom and Ken choose Listowel and the Pierse Fitzgibbon building for their first location outside Tralee.”

Ken Tobin said the development is a great opportunity to encourage people back to Listowel, adding that it is also a huge chance to attract freelancers and small businesses.

Businesses located at HQ Listowel will not have to sign long-term leases, and rent will cover matters such as rates, utilities, high-speed broadband and meeting space.

If seeking out a space ahead of September, one is asked to email info@ hqtralee.com or contact Tom O’Leary on (086) 809 2023. Further information can be obtained at www.hqkerry.com.
