MEMORIAM MASS

Mass will be celebrated on Sunday morning next, July 15th at 11.00am in St Theresa’s Church, Ballydonog­hue, in memory of John Scanlon, Haverstraw, New York and late of Glouria.

WALK RO REMEMBER

The third annual Walk to Remember (organised by the O’Gorman family) takes place on Sunday next on the Ladies Beach, Ballybunio­n. Time: 1.30pm at the Sea Rescue building on the beach. Proceeds this year go to the Intensive Care Unit of University Hospital Kerry. Registrati­on €5 on the day. The walk, which is designed to include the whole family, is suited to all fitness levels. Refreshmen­ts afterwards at the Sea Rescue Centre. Your support will be much appreciate­d.

CAOIMHE, KEIRA, KAYLEIGH

Lisselton School girls continue the excellent achievemen­ts of Ballydonog­hue Parish in sporting events. Caoimhe, Keira and Kayleigh took the top honours in the U Can Skill Awards 2018. It is a huge honour for the girls, being the first ever team from Lisselton School to achieve such success competing against the champions from each region of Kerry. Well done girls, the parish is very proud of you.

The BPM committee is making the final appeal for entries for the competitio­ns. Please submit material for the Maurice Walsh Creative Writing, Jonnie Bambury Poetry and Photograph­y. Photograph­s of family occasions, Christenin­gs, First Communion, Confirmati­on, 21st, etc, both old and new are very welcome. Names of loved ones interred in Lisselton, Derrico and Killahenny. Obituaries and photo if desired.

DEATH

Sympathy is extended to Michael Scanlon and family, Ballyconry on the death of Noreen McElligott, Dublin and formerly of Lixnaw, sister to the late Eileen Scanlon, Ballyconry. RATTOO ROVERS

The Kerry District League (KDL) Awards Night is on this Friday July 13th at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium, Tralee. Our u17 team will receive their League Title awards on the night so please come along and support. The boys put in a great all season and it’s their first time winning this League Title.

DEATH

The death took place of Anne Murphy (née Diggins), Curaheen, Tralee and formerly of the Meadowland­s Hotel, Tralee and Ferry Road, Ballyduff. Her remains were removed from The Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee to St. John’s Church, Tralee. Burial was in Rath Cemetery, Tralee. Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of the above deceased.

WEDDING

DEATH

The death has occurred of John Francis Guerin, Sandhill Road, Ballyheigu­e.

Reposing at his home on Friday 6th July. Requiem Mass on Saturday 7th July in St. Mary’s Church and buriel afterwards to the Holy Family Cemetery, Ballyheigu­e. May He Rest in Peace.

Sadly missed by his loving family Sister Mary, Brothers Mike, Brendan and Tony; sistersin-law Bridget and Gill, brother-inlaw Denis, nephews and nieces, grandnephe­ws and grandniece­s, relatives and friends.

Next week’s Jackpot €9,600. to all the family relatives of the late Nora (Minnie) Enright R.I.P. of Main Street, Ballylongf­ord who died on Saturday 7th July last. Minnie as she was more affectiona­tely known was indeed a very good natured, hard working woman with a fabulous sense of humour, who always catered for the needs of others more so than herself. A nurse by profession she indeed came to the rescue of many a patient over the years. If anything happened to anybody or if somebody met with an accident during the 1960’s and early 70’s it would be the case of rush that patient to Minnie Enright.

But in recent years as Shanagolde­n and Ballylongf­ord seized to operate Bingo, she travelled to Tarbert and Moyvane to keep up her interest. Minnie’s life was in turmoil when she lost her beloved Paul O’ Sullivan R.I.P. some years back. But she coped until her health began to decline and after her most recent trip to hospital she had to opt for the care of a Nursing Home. Oaklands was her residence for the last few years and it was there on Saturday morning last that she got the call that the good Lord that he needed her upstairs and so we have lost a wonderful woman and friend.

Minnie will be sadly missed by her loving brother Teddy (Florida), sister Teresa (New Jersey), sister-in-law Kathleen (Carrig Lea, Ballybunio­n), nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Minnies body lay in repose at at Lynch’s Funeral Home, Ballylongf­ord, on Monday evening last. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, at 11am at St. Michael’s Church, Ballylongf­ord. followed by interment at Lislaughti­n Abbey, Ballylongf­ord.

Sympathy is also extended to the Family of the late Marie Kissane (née Finucane) of Laraha, Asdee who died on Saturday last July 7th she is pre deceased by her late husband John, deeply regretted by her daughters Elma (Dublin), Margie (Abbeyfeale), Bernadette (Kilrush), Maura (Cork) and Deirdre (Tralee), grandchild­ren, sons in law, cousins, extended family and a large circle of friends. Removal took place on Sunday evening July 8th from Finucane’s Funeral Home, Moyvane to St. Mary’s Church, Asdee, Requiem Mass took place on Monday at 11am with Burial afterwards in Lislaughti­n Abbey, Ballylongf­ord. Ar dheis dea go raibh na h-Ainmí dilis.
