On yer bikes for kids cycle on Sunday

- By FERGUS DENNEHY

WE’RE just a few days out from the start line of the Ardfert Kids Cycle and organisers are making a final push to get as many kids and parents out on the day to take part.

This years cycle is taking part on Sunday September 16 at 12pm and there wil be two options of either a 5km or 10km cycle for kids to choose from.

This is the second year of the cycle and after the success of last years event where close to 60 kids took part - this second year looks like it will be even better.

David Fitzgerald, who attended the school previously, will be there again this year give advice and encouragement to the young and possibly the not so young riders.

“I’m delighted with how the event went last year and all of us here at the school are thrilled to be associated again with such an active event that encourages children to make positive life choices,” said Principal of Ardfert NS Betty Stack last week.

Participants must be aged 8 and over and be accompanied by an adult. Registration fee for the fun cycle is €10 per child or €25 per family (3 children or more). Registration will take place in Ardfert National School on Sunday 16th before the cycle at 11 – 11.45am.
