1. ST MARY’S TO HOLD A PUB QUIZ ON FRIDAY

ST Mary’s Basketball Club in Castleisla­nd will hold a fundraisin­g pub in McCarthy’s Bar on the night of Friday November 2.

Teams of three, four or five are invited to take part on the night. The cost of entry wil be just € per person with all proceeds from the night going towards the national league ladies tea.

The quiz starts at 8pm.

2. TRALEE PREPS FOR CHRISTIE HENNESSY FEST

IT’S that time of year again in Tralee as the final preparatio­ns are being put on the upcoming annual Christie Hennessy festival.

This years festival will be held in Ashe Hotel on Friday November 2 and will see a whole host of great and local musicians take to the stage to celebrate the life and memory of one of Tralee’s finest musicians.

3. ROUNDYS BAR TO HOLD ‘DAY OF THE DEAD’ PARTY

ROUNDY’S Bar will host a very different sort of event this weekend when it opens its doors for the public to experience a ‘Day of the Dead Party’ on Saturday November 3.

Cocktails, tacos, live music and of course skull face paint and costumes are welcomed as well on the night.

4. ‘RUN IN THE DARK’ COMES TO KERRY

THE global running movement, Run in the Dark, comes to Kerry on November 7or its first year.

Participan­ts can join the 5k run taking them along Inch Beach in a unique night running experience, which will be led by local man Mike O’Shea.

5. ‘HALLOWEEN HOWL’ TO BE HEARD IN KENMARE

A ‘HALLOWEEN’ Howl will be heard in Kenmare this weekend with a great number of activities for all the family.

Taking place on Friday October 26 until Saturday November 3, there will be a family fun day on the 26th from 1pm to 4pm at SuperValu; a Haunted House from 5:30 to 9:30pm at the Shelbourne Street School House.

6. SVP FASHION NIGHT IN BALLYBUNIO­N

A SAINT Vincent De Paul fashion night will be held in the Marine Bar and Restaurant on the night of November 16.

The night will be in aid of the Ballybunio­n SVP branch; it will feature fashion, fun and plenty of food and drink.

Doors on the night will open at 6:30pm and tickets are set to cost €35 each; early booking is essential as places are limited. Call 06827139 for more informatio­n.

7. GRACE TO BE REMEBERED IN TRALEE WALK

THE memory of much loved Tralee woman Grace Moran will be remembered with a walk on Sunday November 11.

Grace passed away suddenly last year and now a walk in her memory will be held from the Kerins O’Rahillys at 2pm on the day.

The walk will help to raise funds for three worthy charities Pieta House, Cuan Mhuire and MS Tralee District Branch.

8. COUNTDOWN TO LISTOWEL RUNS BEGINS

KERRY Crusaders are letting that is still interested in signing up for their annual Half-Marathon and 10k road races to do so as soon as possible.

This years run will take place on the morning of Saturday November 10 with medals and t-shirts for all participan­ts.

9. RATHMORE TO HOLD CHARITY FASHION SHOW

THE ‘Friends of the Children of Chernobyl’ will hold their annual fashion show on the night of Thursday November 8.

The night will be held in the Community Centre in Rathmore at 8pm and tickets for the night are currently on sale from the following: Betty (0876323922) and Mairead (0860653369).

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
