Mulvihill to referee Ladies All-Ireland final

-

ST Senans club man Seamus Mulvihill has been given the honour of refereeing the Ladies All-Ireland SFC football final between Mayo and Dublin in Croke Park on Sunday week.

Mulvihill is no stranger to refereeing national finals as he took the whistle for the All Ireland Minor final in August this year between Cork and Galway.

He was also the man in the middle for the All-Ireland Junior final in 2015 between Louth and Scotland and has officiated club finals at all levels in Kerry and Munster. He also took charge of the 2016 Higher Level Colleges O’Connor Cup final when UCD defeated UL.

Seamus is at the top of his game when it comes to the men’s side of things as well, and in 2015 he had the ultimate honour when he refereed the County SFC final between South Kerry and Legion, a game that finished in a draw.

Seamus believes the rule in the ladies game where the player can pick the ball clean off the ground with the hand should be introduced into the men’s game, and with over 19 years of refereeing experience, he is a man who knows what he is talking about.
