GREAT GATSBY GALA SET FOR THE MALTON
EVER dreamt about being Daisy Buchannan or Jay Gatsby? Well, now’s your chance to experience the magic of the ‘roaring 20s’ as The Malton gets set to host a ‘Great Gatsby Gala’ event on Friday, December 1, for the Kerry Branch of the Irish Hotels Federation.
The theme is especially fitting as the hotel which is shortly due to be renamed the Great Southern Killarney - was a magnet for socialites and dignitaries in the period leading up to the 1920s; however, the property never hosted the celebrated parties of this iconic age as it was closed down and used as a Military barracks during the turbulent years of the 1920s in Kerry. Now the team at The Malton are aiming to rewind the clock and throw a 1920s bash to rewrite the history books.
Guests will arrive to all the fanfare of a ‘Gatsby bash’, beginning the evening at ‘The Giggle Water Arrival Party’ featuring ‘The Lounge Man’, before indulging in a spectacular four course 1920’s style banquet. Post dinner, guests will enjoy a turn at the tables at ‘The Prohibition Casino’ and live jazz will continue into the early hours in the Great Room Cocktail Lounge.
The evening promises to be the highlight of Killarney’s social calendar and all members and non-members of the IHF are welcome to attend. Tickets are priced at €95 per person and the dress code for the event is black tie, while 1920’s style recommended.
