Listowel man put off road for 3 years

A LISTOWEL man was put off the road for three years and fined €150 at Listowel District Court on Thursday for the charge of drunken driving.

Aidan Murphy, 2 Killacrim, Listowel, pleaded guilty to the charge. The court heard he was stopped on February 19 of this year – at Killacrim – and that he returned a reading of 44 mcg per 100ml of breath.

Solicitor Pat Mann described his client as a ‘very decent’ man and said he had made an error of judgement on the night. Judge O’Connor acceded to a request to postpone the disqualification period to February 18.
