DIVISION 2A & 2B

DENNY DIVISION 2A

Tralee Bay 2 Ballymac Celtic 5

THESE sides met for the first time this season and the game lived up to its billing with plenty of goals to keep the spectators happy. Tralee Bay took the lead on the half hour mark when a shot was deflected past the Ballymac keeper from 10 yards to make it 1-0.

Ballymac equalised before the break when Mike Herlihy squared the ball across the box and the on running Paudie O’Connor hit it hard into the bottom corner to

make it 1-1 at the interval.

Ballymac made a few changes at half time and it certainly changed the game. They went ahead in the 60th when the ball came to Raphael Nana in the box and amid a cluster of players his shot was deemed to have crossed the goal line and Ballymac were ahead in controversial circumstances.

Then Tralee Bay went down to 10 men when they had a player sent off and now the odds seemed to be in favour of Ballymac.

However the game was back to parity in the 80th minute when Tralee Bay equalised.

However Balymac finished very strongly with three unanswered goals, two from Lasmin Gheorghe the first with a 30 yard screamer and the second a great finish from close in. Paudie O’Connor completed

the scoring for the winners.

NEWCOMERS Killorglin B travelled to Sandhill Road on Sunday for a tricky game against Ballybunion and came away with smiles as broad as Ballybunion beach after a great win.
