THE Dingle Peninsula Cycle Challenge, which took participants on a testing trail from Dingle to Camp, over the Conor Pass and around The West, raised €5,700 which was donated to local charities last weekend.

Dingle Cycling Club organised the annual event, which was held on May 5 during Féile na Bealtaine and 350 cyclists from around Kerry and further afield took part. On Sunday evening in An Conair bar the money raised from the cycle was donated to local charities, with €3,700 going to the Dingle Camphill Community and €1,000 to the sportsfield development fund at Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne where the cycle was based. The club previously donated €500 each to Rugbaí Chorca Dhuibhne and Scoil Naomh Eirc.
