Quirke’s marks 65 years

QUIRKE’S Newsagent and Gro­cery Shop in the cen­tre of Cahir­siveen has been a land­mark in the town for a con­sid­er­able num­ber of years.

It’s also a premises where the lat­est books on the mar­ket are dis­played.

The cur­rent pro­pri­etor, Col­man Quirke, has been run­ning his busi­ness for the past 40 years, and prior to that his par­ents Seán and Bride com­menced busi­ness there 65 years

ago. In hon­our of this, a grand open­ing will take place there on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 12, in cel­e­bra­tion of the Quirke fam­ily busi­ness in Cahir­siveen for the past 65 years. On the day there will be a 20 per cent re­duc­tion on all trans­ac­tions, as well as a draw for a 40-inch TV and a lap­top tablet.
