60th Birthday: Congratulations to the former Valentia Young Islanders and South Kerry footballer Pat O’Connor, of Cooil, who was 60 on Tuesday, October 2.
Pat and his wife, Collette, and family were pleasantly surprised by the arrival of their son, Shane, from Toronto for the occasion.
A public meeting to review parish life over the past three years and discuss a plan for the future will be held in the Royal Hotel on Thursday, October 11, at 8pm.
Fr Ger Godley from the Diocesan Pastoral Committee will be in attendance.

Chapeltown, Valentia, having spent the past five years in Melbourne, Australia. He also put down a short period in Adelaide.
Seán’s presence has been missed around Caol in the recent past, and the news is that he has jetted off to Toronto in Canada, where he intends to stay for an open-ended period.
