Recovery Haven gifted with over €15,000 from Jamie Wrenn walk
ORGANISERS of the annual Jamie Wrenn/Mike Deane memorial walk can sleep easy this weekend after they presented a whopping €15,126 cheque to Recovery Haven Kerry.
The impressive sum of money puts the walk over €100,000 raised over the last few years with more than 100 walkers again taking part in this year’s event back in July; with organisers Mary Lynch and Sandra Finn stepping away from the walk this year, it is a fitting conclusion.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with it now that’s for sure and certain. It’s a great amount of money to raise on just one day,” said Sandra, speaking on Friday afternoon.
“We raised over €5,000 on the road alone. The kindness of the people of Kerry really shows,” she continued.
Sandra said that being able to hand over the cheque to a worthy charity such as Recovery Haven was a special moment.
“They don’t receive any special funding but still the services and support that they provide is phenomenal,” she finished.
A cheque of €15,126 was presented to Recovery Haven on Thursday; the money was the proceeds from the annual Jamie Wrenn/Mike Deane Memorial Walk.
