Aghadoe Spa teams up with Kerry Hospice
SUPPORTING local charity is the name of the game for the team at the award-winning Aghadoe Heights Hotel Spa this week after they officially partnered up with the Kerry Hospice Foundation.
The Spa’s aim with this new partnership is to help raise not just awareness of the work of the charity, but also to help as much funds for the organisation as possible.
During the partnership, the team will be working closely with Director of Nursing, Mari O’Connell and Clinical Nurse Manager, Eimear Hallissey.
Recently, a team of three Spa Therapists from the award-winning hotel embarked on specialised training with reflexology guru, Claire O’Grady in the care of those undergoing cancer treatment.
The team have already undergone extensive training in this area and successfully completed Christine Clinton’s “Cancer Care” course as well as “Massage for People Living with Cancer”, which was conducted by Gayle McDonald.
The Spa at Aghadoe will now be teaming up with Kerry Specialist Palliative Care Service to offer three complimentary reflexology treatments at the start of each month. Kerry Specialist Palliative Care Service will be in a position to offer these treatments to those in need.
“Medical treatment is exhausting on both the mind and body and to know that we can assist in alleviating some of the negative impact is a truly wonderful feeling” said Yvette Ryan, a therapist at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa since 2005.
