Healy Raes to face court in April as summonses served
TWO sons of Deputy Michael Healy Rae are to appear in Kenmare District Court on April 5 to face assault charges. Both will deny the charges.
Jackie and Kevin Healy Rae, Sandymount, Kilgarvan, were served with the summonses at Kenmare Garda Station this week after they voluntarily arranged to attend the station.
The charges arise from an incident in Kenmare town on December 28, 2017.
A third man, Malachy Scannell, Inchinacoosh, Kilgarvan, is also facing assault charges from the same incident and will plead not guilty.
All three accused are represented by solicitor Padraig O’Connell.
On April 5 a decision will be made on what court the case will be heard.
