Two national camogie awards for Kerry

AT a function held at Croke Park recently Margaret Carroll of Cillard Camogie Club was the Kerry recipient of a Volunteer of the Year Award and Kerry PRO Risteárd Ó Fuaráin received the PRO of the Year award.

This event was an opportunit­y for the Camogie Associatio­n to recognise those involved at grassroots level and MC for the night was Eileen Dunne.

The PRO Award is named after Eileen’s father, the late RTÉ GAA Commentato­r, Mick Dunne. President of the Camogie Associatio­n, Kathleen Woods, paid tribute to those who work to promote the game throughout Ireland and overseas and thanked them for their commitment.

MEANWHILE, the Kerry campoie management teams and Officer Board for 2019 have been ratified.

The Senior team management is Ian Brick (manager/coach), selectors: Johnny Horgan and Pete Young, Erin Sheehan (physio), Roy Guerin (Strength & Conditioni­ng), Joanne Diggin (Liaison officer)

The Minor team management is Eoin Lawlor, James McCarthy and Ann Kearney.
