“The Firies Family Skills Knockout was fashioned to engage our members whilst creatively practicing their fundamental GAA skills,” said Tim Clifford, Firies Coiste na nÓg chairman. “It’s a family-based household game and created with this social guideline in mind.

The O’Sullivan family submitted their hurling entry and received overwhelming traction on the club’s social media.

“Paudie, Conor, Gavin and Marcus gave an industrious master class in their entry concentrating on the small ball of GAA,” Tim continued.

“With social guidelines relaxing, their enthusiastic entry finally received its just reward.

“Gerard Murphy, proprietor of Vincent Murphy Sports in Castleisland, kindly sponsored the winning prize [and] presented a voucher to the victorious O’Sullivan family over the weekend.”

Mr Clifford continued to sincerely thank Gerard and Gerard’s father, Vincent, for their overwhelming support and encouragement of the club.

“During harsh and unpleasant times, both Vincent and Gerard have always supported the grassroots of GAA in particular new initiatives and developments, especially within our own club.

“Without this support, we cannot strive for success.” And, finally, Tim concluded with a word of thanks to all of the families who submitted their entries, and he applauded all of their efforts.
