Dr Crokes will play in Munster as O’Rahillys face relegation play-off
REIGNING provincial and All-Ireland champions, Dr Crokes, will represent Kerry in the Munster Club Championship at the end of the month regardless of how they do in next week’s County SFC final against South Kerry.
As the club team to survive the furthest into the county championship, Dr Crokes will get the chance to defend their Munster and All-Ireland title, starting with a quarter-final against the Tipperary champions on October 29.
Crokes will play South Kerry in Sunday week’s county final in Tralee after the former beat West Kerry and the latter saw off Kerins O’Rahillys in last Saturday’s semi-finals.
After being so close to reaching the SFC final O’Rahillys must now play Kilcummin in a relegation play-off with the loser dropping down to the Intermediate championship next year.
In a painful twist, O’Rahillys will feature on the county final day billing as the relegation play-off will be the curtain-raiser to the Dr Crokes versus South Kerry final.
