Graduates of new health care course
THIRTEEN people from across the county secured jobs in the health sector through a brand new course from which they graduated on Friday.
They graduated through a new Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection, Health and Social Care programme offering a ‘QQI Level 5 in Health Care support certificate’ at the end of the course.
The course also presented participants with the option of receiving an award that would provide a strong platform from which to secure full time employment in the Health Care sector. They were the first to complete the course with a further 45 people in the county recently beginning the second intake of the course. Community employment positions are available to be fillled such as Health Care support, Childcare, Horticulture and also areas such as tourism and adminastration.
Courses such as this programme help fill these employment gaps in the county.
The department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection already supports 44 community employment schemes in Kerry.
