Fund­ing for Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuib­hne

A GRANT of €224,824 sanc­tioned fo Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuib­hne for the 2017/2018 year, means that they can con­tinue with their ac­tiv­i­ties for the ben­e­fit of Ir­ish in West Kerry.

As part of their work, Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuib­hne em­ploy two full time staff, a part time mu­seum cu­ra­tor and a co-or­di­na­tor for the Tús Maith scheme, Ir­ish Lan­guage as­sis­tants in schools through Scéim na gCuin­tóirí Teanga, home lan­guage vis­i­tors as part of the Tús Maith scheme, and teach­ers for Ir­ish lan­guage cour­ses, singers, dancers and sto­ry­tellers. They also em­ploy artists in res­i­dence such as writ­ers and singers and pro­vide sup­port to fes­ti­vals and the youth. They also en­able ac­tiv­i­ties that help pro­mote the lan­guage in lo­cal busi­nesses, and ac­tiv­i­ties for vis­i­tors in ir­ish, as well as be­ing in­stru­men­tal in the im­ple­men­ta­tion of the Plean Teanga
