KERRY DEAF RESOURCE CENTRE
ONGOING POLICY REVIEW
Over the past few weeks we have informed you of some changes in our service in terms of policies and procedures. As part of this process, we are now reviewing & updating all our inhouse policies & procedures. This will help to ensure we are compliant with up-to-date guidelines, regulations and legislation. Reviews will take place every 3 years thereafter.
VOLUNTEERS FOR STREET COLLECTIONS
Our service is also looking for volunteers for Street Collections that will be taking place in July & September. These collections are a vital way for our service to raise funds for our Drop in Centre in Tralee and service user supports.
Volunteers are required for the following dates: Friday 20th of July (Tralee). Friday 14th of September (Castleisland).
If you are available to volunteer, please contact Therese or Noreen in our office. We appreciate all the support we receive from volunteers.
RECYCLING OF BATTERIES FOR BARRETSTOWN
Did you know that our service recycles old & used batteries? We accept most types of batteries including AA, AAA, 9volt (square/ rectangular) & hearing aid batteries. This year all recycled batteries will go towards a fundraising campaign for Barretstown which offers free, specially designed camps and programmes for children and their families living with a serious illness – supported behind the scenes by 24-hour on site medical and nursing care. For more information on Barretstown battery recycling scheme, check out https://www.barretstown.org/2018/03/27/batteries-for-barretstown/
