HER­ITAGE MAT­TERS

The His­tory Group wishes to thank every­one who at­tended the John Joe O’Sul­li­van Me­mo­rial Lec­ture last Tues­day, where Dr. Pádraig Ó Donnab­háin traced the His­tory of the Ir­ish Ed­u­ca­tional Sys­tem since its foun­da­tion in 1831. The com­mem­o­ra­tive mu­sic was per­formed by Dave He­garty and Ciarán Dal­ton.

HER­ITAGE GROUP

The group’s Trad-Cum-Clas­si­cal Con­cert will take place in the same White Sands venue on Sat. 11th Au­gust at 8.00pm, for which tick­ets are now avail­able.

SPE­CIAL EVENT

The Spe­cial Event cel­e­brat­ing the cen­te­nary of the Right to Vote for Women is be­ing sched­uled for the au­tumn time. An or­gan­is­ing com­mit­tee will clar­ify the na­ture of the Event with time.

SWIM­MING CLASSES

Classes in Ballyheigue 9th to 13th July, for school go­ing chil­dren, be­gin­ners to ad­vanced. Reg­is­tra­tion and classes com­mence Mon­day 9th July at 10am, meet at Life­guard Sta­tion, Cost 25 euro. En­quiries: 087-7730320.

DEATH

The death has oc­curred of John Fran­cis Guerin, Sand­hill Road, Ballyheigue.

Re­pos­ing at his home on Fri­day 6th July. Requiem Mass on Satur­day 7th July in St. Mary’s Church and buriel af­ter­wards to the Holy Fam­ily Ceme­tery, Ballyheigue. May He Rest in Peace.

Sadly missed by his lov­ing fam­ily Sis­ter Mary, Broth­ers Mike, Bren­dan and Tony; sis­tersin-law Brid­get and Gill, brother-in­law De­nis, neph­ews and nieces, grand­nephews and grand­nieces, rel­a­tives and friends.

COURSING LOTTO

The fol­low­ing num­bers were drawn on Tues­day 3rd July in the Ballyheigue & Dis­trict Coursing Club Lotto: 4-16-20-22. Jack­pot was not won.
