Croke Park beck­ons for Su­per 8s

NEXT Sun­day the Kerry Se­niors play Gal­way at 4pm in Round 1 of the Su­per 8s.

The other two coun­ties in our group are Kil­dare and Mon­aghan and they will play each other at 2pm on Sun­day. The week­end after next sees us play­ing Mon­aghan in Clones.

There are no Su­per 8 games fixed for the last week­end of July and then on the Au­gust Bank Hol­i­day week­end we wel­come Kil­dare to Kil­lar­ney. Done­gal, Dublin, Ty­rone and Roscom­mon are the teams in Group 2. The Kerry team will be an­nounced on Fri­day night on the Kerry GAA web­site at 8pm.

In the event of teams fin­ish­ing on equal points after the three Su­per 8s games, the tie shall be de­cided by the fol­low­ing means and in the or­der spec­i­fied: (i) Where two teams only are in­volved – the out­come of the meet­ing of the two Teams in the Group (ii) Score dif­fer­ence – sub­tract­ing the to­tal scores against from the to­tal scores for (iii) High­est To­tal Score For (iv) High­est To­tal Goals For and (v) A Play-Off.

The only way of guar­an­tee­ing your­self a stand ticket for all Su­per 8 games in­volv­ing Kerry is by join­ing the Kerry GAA Ticket Scheme, email mau­riceomeara@ker­ry­gaa. ie for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion.

Tick­ets for the Gal­way game went on sale last Mon­day. Tick­ets are avail­able on­line, in the Kerry GAA store Kil­lar­ney and in Su­perValu and Cen­tra out­lets around the county. Adult stand tick­ets are €30 and €20 for the ter­race.

Fam­ily tick­ets are avail­able for the Cu­sack and Davin Stands and stu­dents and se­nior cit­i­zens get a re­fund of €10 with valid ID at Block D, Stiles 1 to 5 in the Cu­sack Stand (Re­bate can only be claimed on en­try into the sta­dium via block D). The Kerry GAA Sup­port­ers Club are tak­ing coaches to Croke Park for the Kerry v Gal­way game on Sun­day. All seats must be booked by Thurs­day night July 12. Ju­niors & U20s CON­GRAT­U­LA­TIONS to the Kerry Ju­niors who beat Kil­dare in the All Ire­land semi-fi­nal.

Kerry were hit with a num­ber of in­juries after their Mun­ster fi­nal vic­tory but they still named a very strong panel to take on Kil­dare. After start­ing strong, Kerry let Kil­dare back into the game and with time al­most up a goal from Kil­dare left only three be­tween the sides.

Then Kerry broke away for Cil­lian Fitzger­ald’s goal to seal their path into a fifth straight All-Ire­land de­cider. Kerry meet Gal­way in the fi­nal which is due to be played the week­end of July 21.

This week­end the Kerry Un­der 20s are in ac­tion in their All Ire­land semi-fi­nal. Last Fri­day night Kil­dare beat Dublin in quite a con­vinc­ing man­ner to set up their semi-fi­nal meet­ing with Kerry.

There’s a tough task ahead for Kerry but Jack O’Con­nor and his man­age­ment team will have them well pre­pared. The venue, date and time for this fix­ture was an­nounced on Mon­day.

The game goes ahead on Satur­day at 4pm in the Gaelic Grounds Lim­er­ick. The game is pre­ceded by the U21 Richie McEl­lig­ott Hurl­ing game be­tween Kerry and Kil­dare at 2pm

Keanes Su­perValu MFC MI­NOR Cham­pi­onship Round 3 Fix­tures: Thurs­day July 12 at 7pm St Kieran’s v Shan­non Rangers in Cordal and West Kerry v St Bren­dan’s in Castle­gre­gory. Tues­day July 16 at 7pm Feale Rangers v Laune Rangers in Mount­coal and Kenmare v Mid Kerry in Kenmare.

The quar­ter-fi­nals are sched­uled for Tues­day Au­gust 14.

The fi­nal round of the Ju­nior Leagues were played last Fri­day night. All back games are to be played by this week­end as the group semi-fi­nals are sched­uled to go ahead on Fri­day July 20.

CON­GRAT­U­LA­TIONS to Aileen Fo­ley Tralee who won the July Lucky Dip Prize which in­cluded two nights ac­com­mo­da­tion in the Croke Park Ho­tel and tick­ets to all Round 1 games of the Su­per 8s in Croke Park. En­joy your week­end Aileen!

The num­bers drawn this week were 12,25,29,32. There was no win­ner of the jack­pot. The two win­ners of €50 each were Ea­mon O’Sul­li­van,Castleis­land and John Alan O’Sul­li­van, Hong Kong.
