Rock St com­pa­nies pay €495k to tax­man

TWO Rock Street firms have made set­tle­ments worth a com­bined €495,000 with the tax­man.

Corcoran Food Ma­chines Ltd and Corcoran Shop Equip­ment Ltd, both with ad­dresses at Up­per Rock Street, are among five in­di­vid­u­als and busi­nesses in the greater Tralee area that were named in the lat­est Tax De­fault­ers List pub­lished this week by Rev­enue.

Corcoran Food Ma­chines paid out €364,275 in tax, in­ter­est and penal­ties while Corcoran Shop Equip­ment paid €131,181 in tax, in­ter­est and penal­ties.

Both cases re­lated to un­der dec­la­ra­tion of cor­po­ra­tion tax and PAYE/PRSI/USC and had fol­lowed Rev­enue au­dits.

The five set­tle­ments made by Kerry people and busi­nesses were worth a com­bined €720,000. Four of the cases in­volved Tralee busi­nesses with the fifth made by an Ard­fert-based farmer.

John D Clif­ford a farmer with an ad­dress at Kil­lea­cle Ard­fert made a set­tle­ment of €91,313 in tax, in­ter­est and penal­ties aris­ing from un­der dec­la­ra­tion of cap­i­tal gains tax fol­low­ing a rev­enue en­quiry case.

John Kel­li­her a lock­smith and in­vest­ment in­come part­ner with an ad­dress at An Nead, Clounalour, Oak­park Road Tralee paid out €90,635 in tax in­ter­est and penal­ties aris­ing from non dec­la­ra­tion of in­come tax and VAT fol­low­ing a Rev­enue au­dit.

Haulier firm Bran­don Court Ltd of Drom­tacker, Tralee handed over €42,789 in tax, in­ter­est and penal­ties aris­ing from un­der dec­la­ra­tion of Cor­po­ra­tion tax, PAYE/PRSI/USC.
