On yer bikes for kids cy­cle on Sun­day

WE’RE just a few days out from the start line of the Ard­fert Kids Cy­cle and or­gan­is­ers are mak­ing a fi­nal push to get as many kids and par­ents out on the day to take part.

This years cy­cle is tak­ing part on Sun­day Septem­ber 16 at 12pm and there wil be two op­tions of ei­ther a 5km or 10km cy­cle for kids to choose from.

This is the sec­ond year of the cy­cle and af­ter the suc­cess of last years event where close to 60 kids took part - this sec­ond year looks like it will be even bet­ter.

David Fitzger­ald, who attended the school pre­vi­ously, will be there again this year give ad­vice and en­cour­age­ment to the young and pos­si­bly the not so young rid­ers.

“I’m de­lighted with how the event went last year and all of us here at the school are thrilled to be associated again with such an ac­tive event that en­cour­ages chil­dren to make pos­i­tive life choices,” said Prin­ci­pal of Ard­fert NS Betty Stack last week.

Par­tic­i­pants must be aged 8 and over and be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult. Regis­tra­tion fee for the fun cy­cle is €10 per child or €25 per fam­ily (3 chil­dren or more). Regis­tra­tion will take place in Ard­fert Na­tional School on Sun­day 16th be­fore the cy­cle at 11 – 11.45am.
