Kerry School of Mu­sic, es­tab­lished in 1982, is a reg­is­tered char­ity and sci­en­tific body pro­vid­ing high­est qual­ity, af­ford­able tu­ition in Mu­sic, Drama and Dance at seven lo­ca­tions through­out Kerry - Tralee, Kil­lar­ney, Lis­towel, Castleis­land, Abbeyfeale, Kil­lor­glin and Din­gle. Con­grat­u­la­tions to Con­cert Flute teacher Ermelinda Xy­heri and her stu­dents who rep­re­sented the school at the Big Flute Fes­ti­val in the Royal Ir­ish Academy of Mu­sic. You all did the school and Kerry proud.

cen­tres on Mon­day, Septem­ber 10th. Call us for ad­vice on 0667120077. Re­turn­ing stu­dents who have al­ready reg­is­tered will have got their timeta­bles by email in the past week. First time stu­dents should be able to to be­gin also in the first week.


Adult stu­dents are al­ways wel­come to en­quire about lessons at the School. Re­tire­ment is a great time to take up a life-long am­bi­tion to play a mu­si­cal in­stru­ment.


Par­ents or adult stu­dents can book a single les­son or a 5-les­son taster pack­age for any in­stru­ment in­clud­ing voice. Par­ents con­sid­er­ing voice lessons can also avail of a free vo­cal as­sess­ment.


Ap­pli­ca­tions are in­vited for schol­ar­ships in lower String and Wind in­stru­ments. Applicants re- quire no pre­vi­ous mu­si­cal train­ing but may be asked to take a mu­sic ap­ti­tude as­sess­ment.

A lim­ited num­ber of schol­ar­ships are also of­fered to first-time stu­dents who dis­play a po­ten­tial for ex­cel­lence in their cho­sen sub­ject. Con­tact the Di­rec­tor for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion.


Kerry’s lead­ing cham­ber choir re­turns to reg­u­lar Mon­day night re­hearsals in Kerry School of Mu­sic’s Fleischmann Stu­dio next Mon­day, Septem­ber 17th. The pro­gramme for this year in­cludes Han­del’s Mes­siah in Kil­lar­ney Fri­ary on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 16th. A cho­ral set­ting of Schu­bert’s mas­ter­ful song cy­cle Win­ter­reise and ex­cerpts from Orff’s Carmina Bu­rana, adapted for Soloists, SATB choir, two pi­anos and per­cus­sion is also on the menu. Kerry School of Mu­sic’s Tralee Chil­dren’s Choir re­turns on Mon­day Spetem­ber 10th. Mem­ber­ship is open to chil­dren be­tween the ages of 7-12. Re­hearsals take place ev­ery Mon­day 6.307.15pm. Call 066-7125690 or 0874103220 for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion. The choir will record a Christ­mas CD and per­form widely through­out the county dur­ing the com­ing year.
